NEROMACCARJ is a Nero d’Avola cru with a particularly strong powerful and rich character. The acidic strength that marks its personality is punctually matched and balanced in the dense tannic texture but above all in the richness of pulp and maturity of fruit that give the wine a great envelopment, from which over time the typical notes of dried herbs and jams are released more and more clearly.

The Maccarj vineyard among the most renowned in the Pachinese, a classic subzone of Val di Noto, covers about 3 hectares at 30 m above sea level. The soil, calcareous clayey limestone, belongs to a particularly ancient geological formation, characterized by very thin and compact stratifications. The climate is temperate-warm Mediterranean. The planting density is 7,000 vines per hectare trained as bush-trained. The unirrigated vines are over 35 years old with natural yields not exceeding 50 quintals per hectare.
