Gaudensius Blanc de Noir – Etna DOC Spumante Brut

The volcanic soul of Etna is reflected in this elegant and complex Classic Method sparkling wine, obtained exclusively from Nerello Mascalese grapes, the symbolic grape variety of the Etna area.
Gaudensius Blanc de Noir is produced in the districts Verzella, Feudo di Mezzo and Sant’Antonio, in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia (CT), on the northern slope of Etna, between 570 and 750 metres above sea level. The predominantly sandy, volcanic soils give the wine a fine, mineral structure.

It has a pale straw yellow color with golden reflections and a fine, continuous, and persistent perlage.
On the nose, it is intense and fruity, with elegant notes of Sicilian citrus fruits, brioche, anise, and mineral notes.
The palate is complex and savory, with good structure and long persistence.

Aged for 40 months on the lees in the bottle, it is an excellent expression of Firriato’s Metodo Classico and the unique character of Etna.
