Pez along with Calon is the oldest vineyard in Saint-Estèphe. Their origin dates back to the 15th century when Monsieur Jean de Briscos ruled it in 1452; in 1562 it was then the turn of the “nobleman” Ducos, followed from 1585 by Jean de Pontac. It is to the Pontacs, also founders of Château Haut-Brion, that PEZ owes its vineyards.

The property is located in the western part of the commune of Saint-Estèphe and comprises 48 hectares in a single plot, of which 42 hectares are planted with vines.

Clayey-calcareous and rich in pebbles.

Tasting notes:
Expressive nose with notes of black cherry, tobacco and licorice stick. Notes of violet, currant, thyme and a touch of bitter orange peel emerge on the palate; complex and mouthwatering flavor. A sensual Saint – Estèphe with silky, caressing tannins lending persistence and tension.
