Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rosso Moganazzi DOC 2020 is a wine of extraordinary quality from the northern slopes of Etna. The Terre Nere Estate has selected the best terroirs in the Castiglione Municipality, particularly Moganazzi and Guardiola, for this outstanding wine.

History: The Moganazzi vineyard was discovered in 2007 by Marco de Grazia, who considered it so valuable that he dedicated his splendid wine to a charity project related to the Meyer Children’s Hospital in Florence. In subsequent years, additional adjacent plots were acquired, expanding the production of this highly prized cru.

Features:

• Grapes: 100% Nerello Mascalese.
• Extent of Vineyards: 2 hectares.
• Production: 50 quintals per hectare.
• Soil: Volcanic, medium deep, composed of volcanic ash and small stones.
• Exposure: North slope of Etna at an altitude of 700-750 meters above sea level.
• Age of Vineyards: 70 to 90 years old.
• Annual Production: About 6,000 bottles.

Organoleptic Characteristics:

• Appearance: Aesthetically splendid, with vineyards on steep terraces covered with sapling vines about eighty years old.
• Taste: The wine is sparkling, with a dense fabric and bright character. It has a compelling attack and the understated loveliness of a Greek sculpture. Over time, it evolves into soft resilience, with sustained richness and a nervous, intimate note.
