The 2013 vintage is characterized by a particularly delayed growth cycle. The prolonged winter gave way to a shy spring, with flowering continuing into early June. A bright summer with a record of sunshine and limited rainfall favored the ripening of Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. The harvest, which took place in October, benefited from cool autumn weather, resulting in elegant and incredibly fresh wines that are true classics.

• Processing: The 2013 Blanc de Blancs cuvée was obtained through gentle pressing to ensure a rounded effervescence and deeper color. The final dosage is 8 g/l.
• Tasting: The bright, deep yellow color with green reflections is accompanied by a gentle, regular perlage. The bouquet offers a pleasant mix of pollen, flowers, honeysuckle, lily of the valley and lemon, with more concentrated, candied citrus accents. Toasted, sugared and cereal notes then emerge, typical of Avize’s great Chardonnays.

The round, fruity attack quickly dissolves into a mineral, chalky freshness but with a velvety, rich texture. There is a subtle perception of cold, wet chalk, balanced by a slight astringency that enhances the wine’s integrated minerality.
